The Kapow-i GoGo Saga: Parts 1 + 2 by Matt Cox.
An epic adventure by the team that made the long-running international hit comedy Puffs, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.
Matt Cox's The Kapow-i GoGo Saga is a two-part, live-action hybrid of Dragon Ball Z, cyberpunk space operas, most of the Final Fantasies plus every other after-school cartoon, videogame, and all the spandex clad comic book heroes that filled your childhood. Spanning decades, we follow our titular blue-haired warrior on her journeys to collect all the legendary Hyrda Crystals, to compete in The World's Ultimate Fighting Tournament, to far-flung future dystopias and epic battles with power-mad cybernetic generals, devious mega corporations, giant robots, mountain monsters, and assorted other final bosses. She even finds time to save the Princess.
Originally produced at The Peoples Improv Theater as Kapow-i GoGo in 2015 where it extended repeatedly, was a Time Out NY Critic's Pick and hailed as "rollicking" by the New York Times, the production has been completely revised and reimagined for 2020 in NYC.
Puffs recently finished up a run of nearly a thousand performances Off-Broadway at New World Stages after transferring from the Elektra Theater and The PIT. It was filmed as Puffs: Live Off Broadway! and distributed by Fathom Events, available for streaming on BroadwayHD, and available for rental and streaming via Amazon, iTunes and other major retailers. It has had successful runs in Melbourne (where it became the longest-running play this century!), Sydney, and is soon to open in Brisbane, Australia. It's currently been licensed for performance by dozens of theaters and schools across the country.
